INTRODUCTION

Let come what comes, Let go what goes. See what remains..

"The seeker is he who is in search of himself. Give up all questions except one: "Who am I?" After all, the only fact you are sure of is that you are. The "I am" is certain. The "I am this" is not. Struggle to find out what you are in reality. To know what you are, you must first investigate and know what you are not. Discover all that you are not -- body, feelings thoughts, time, space, this or that -- nothing, concrete or abstract, which you perceive can be you. The very act of perceiving shows that you are not what you perceive. The clearer you understand on the level of mind you can be described in negative terms only, the quicker will you come to the end of your search and realise that you are the limitless being".

There are NO others..

When asked about his biographical details, Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj used to say "I was never born", for he does not identify himself with his body. He identified himself only with the eternal and pure beingness. However, here is a shory biogrpahy of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, the person.

TEACHINGS

Happiness is your nature. It is not wrong to desire it. What is wrong is seeking it outside when it is inside..

Just keep in mind the feeling "I am," merge in it, till your mind and feeling become one. By repeated attempts you will stumble on the right balance of attention and affection and your mind will be firmly established in the thought-feeling "I am."

SELF-ENQUIRY

Is there any way of adoring the Supreme which is all, except by abiding firmly as that!

Self-enquiry is the one, infallible means, the only direct one, to realize the unconditioned, absolute Being that you really are.

POINTERS

Tat Tvam Asi..

The life force [prana] and the mind are operating [of their own accord], but the mind will tempt you to believe that it is "you". Therefore understand always that you are the timeless spaceless witness. And even if the mind tells you that you are the one who is acting, don't believe the mind. [...] The apparatus [mind, body] which is functioning has come upon your original essence, but you are not that apparatus.

Before we consider what is 'right' and what is 'wrong', please tell me who is asking this question.

This message “I am” is nothing other than the advertisement of the Eternal Truth.

You are not doing anything. All this is happening spontaneously in you. If you want to understand the deep underlying meaning of this, go to the very source, to your beingness, and hold on to that. But above all, do not collect concepts.

When you talk about “path,” you think the destination is far off and you have to walk there. The point is that you are right at the destination, so where is the necessity of any path?
